I’ve Been Everywhere, is a song written by Australian country singer Geoff Mack in 1959, Lucky Starr, also Australian singer, was the one who popularized the song in March 1962. Originally in the Australian version cities of Australia are named, for the version of Hank Snow, a new adaptation of the letter is made, naming cities of the USA.

Geoff Mack’s music editor offered the song to Canadian singer Hank Snow. Hank recorded this song for the RCA Victor label, it was recorded on June 27, 1962, at RCA Victor Studio, 1611 Hawkins St., Nashville, TN. Hank Sonw was accompanied in the recording by: Hank Snow (vocal), Anita Carter (vocal), Jerry Kennedy (guitar), Velma Smith (guitar), Junior Huskey (bass), William Ackerman (drums), Hargus Robbins (piano), Marvin Hughes (vibes) and The Carter Family. With the production of Chet Atkins, the song was released in September 1962, and on November 24, 1962, it reached number # 1 on the U.S Top Country Songs charts. It was the sixth number one of his career.

The song was included on the album of the same name, I’ve Been Everywhere (RCA 1963), the album was released in April 1963.
